Every great product starts with a frustrating experience. For Lokali, it was a smog check.

Picture this: you need a smog check for your car. The DMV notice says it's due. So you Google "smog check near me." You get a list of places. But which one is good? What do they charge? Are they even open? Can you book online, or do you have to call?

You call three places. One doesn't answer. One says come in whenever. One can fit you in next Tuesday. It takes 30 minutes just to figure out where to go and when.

This is broken.

The "Aha" Moment

The realization was simple: we can book flights, hotels, and restaurants instantly online. Why is booking local services still stuck in the 1990s?

Think about it. Billions of local service appointments happen every year:

• Car maintenance and repairs
• Haircuts and beauty services
• Home cleaning and repairs
• Pet grooming
• Tutoring and lessons

Yet for most of these, the booking experience is fragmented, confusing, and frustrating. Customers can't easily compare options. Small businesses struggle to get discovered. Everyone loses.

Building for the AI Era

When we started building Lokali, we saw something others missed: the rise of AI agents.

ChatGPT had just launched. Google was working on Gemini. AI assistants were about to change how people interact with technology forever. And we realized that whoever built the infrastructure for AI to book services would have a massive advantage.

So we didn't just build another booking website. We built a platform designed from day one to work with AI agents:
